The Society’s 21st Annual Tea, featured “Tea With President Abraham Lincoln” portrayed by actor and historian, Lou del Bianco. Lou’s portrayal of Lincoln has been endorsed by the Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. His program took the viewers on a journey of the extraordinary life of the self-taught Lincoln, from his early childhood thru the emotional tragedies of his personal life and the Civil War. His dramatic approach to storytelling “puts pow into passivity!”, stated the New York Times.
The parents Choice Foundation stated that “few performers excel s both storyteller and musician, but Lou del Bianco is one who does.” Lou’s grandfather, Luigi del Bianco, served as Chief carver on Mount Rushmore and was recently honored with a plaque at the mountain site. It took Lou’s family twenty-five years to accomplish recognition of Luigi’s work. Lou recently appeared on “Good Morning America” and several television programs in celebrating of achieving this recognition for his grandfather.
