The Rocky Point Historical Society and the Long Island Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers dedicated the IEEE Milestone Award recognizing the Centennial of the first transoceanic Radio transmission from RCA Radio Central in Rocky Point at 11 AM on November 5, 1920.
The dedication ceremony took place at the Marconi Shack by the Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School, 90 Rocky Point-Yaphank Road on November 5, 2021. Reception followed at Majestic Gardens, Rocky Point.
World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station, a Swedish facility like RCA, is still in operation! They sent their congratulations to RCA for their IEEE Award.
